What happened to my Cyrillic or Japanese title?
It vanished, and the slug came back empty. Only Latin letters and digits are kept, so a title written entirely in another script has nothing to convert — you will need a romanisation step first, or hand-written slugs for those pages. Latin titles with accents do not have this problem.
Should I turn on the stop-word removal?
It depends on the page. Removing the words in the list — a, an, the, and, of, to, for, with and about thirty others — shortens A Guide to Rails to guide-rails, which reads cleanly. It also drops words that may matter for how the page is found, so for a title where every term is deliberate, leave it off and accept a longer address.
Are emoji and symbols removed?
