What is SVG to PNG Converter?

Vector graphics have no fixed resolution, which is exactly the problem when something downstream needs pixels: a slide deck, a PDF, a design handoff, a social card, a retina app icon. Set an output width and the height is derived from the file's aspect ratio, so proportions stay exact. Because the source is resolution-independent, exporting at 4× the size you will display it at costs nothing in quality — there is no resampling of a fixed source, the vector is simply rendered at the resolution you asked for. The one real constraint is self-containment: the browser renders your SVG in isolation, so an image that references an external file, or picks up a web font, will render without it.

Convert SVG vector graphics to PNG images at any width or height you choose — upscale losslessly for print or export crisp icons at standard sizes. All rendering happens in your browser.

Step-by-Step

How to use SVG to PNG Converter

1

Drop an .svg file into the Drop an SVG file area; the picker accepts image/svg+xml.

2

Type the target width into Output width (px) — anything from 16 to 8192, starting at 1024 — and height follows the aspect ratio.

3

Press Convert to PNG to rasterise the vector at that size.

4

Check the preview, then use the download button, which shows the resulting file size.

Key Capabilities
  • Output width is adjustable from 16 to 8192 pixels, with height calculated from the source aspect ratio
  • Renders from vector data, so large output sizes stay sharp rather than being upscaled
  • A failure message points to external references or unsupported features when rasterisation fails
  • One file per run, with the encoded PNG's byte size shown on the download button
Common Use Cases
  • A designer exporting a logo at 1024px for a pitch deck where the file has to be a raster image.
  • A developer generating app icon PNGs from an SVG source at each size iOS and Android require.
  • A print designer rasterising a vector at 300 DPI-equivalent dimensions for a supplier that will not take SVG.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will an SVG that uses web fonts render correctly?
Not reliably. The browser renders the file in isolation, so a font referenced by name but not embedded may fall back to a substitute and change the appearance, or fail to draw the text at all. Convert text to outlines in your vector editor first.
Does it handle SVG files that link to an external image?
They generally will not, because the linked file is not available. If rasterisation fails outright you will see a message telling you the SVG may contain external references. Inline everything, or flatten the design to paths.
How large can the output be?
The width field caps at 8192 pixels, and the height follows from the aspect ratio — so a tall SVG could in principle exceed common canvas limits. Very large dimensions may fail; 4096 is a safer ceiling for extreme aspect ratios.
Is the SVG file uploaded for rendering?
Not for rendering. The vector is rasterised from a local object URL, so no request is issued while it converts.
